E-Learning Rules For Student
Below are rules and considerations that should be followed when learning remotely.

  1. Test that your microphone and video before class to see if they work.
  2. Microphones should be muted at all times unless you are the person speaking.
  3. Video should be turned on.
  4. E-Learning should take place in a quiet environment. Turn off distractions - TV, music, etc.
  5. If you have a question for your teacher, but you are unable to ask at that time - write down your question and ask later. 
  6. Turn on captions (if available)
  7. Sit in a well-lit room facing a light source.
  8. Do not be afraid to ask for help.
  9. Wait your turn.
  10. Stay positive!

REMOTE LEARNING


  • It has been determined that Paterson Public Schools will begin the school year with remote learning from home Monday - Friday beginning September 8, 2020.

UNIFORM INFORMATION


During remote learning students are not expected to wear the school uniform; however, they are expected to dress according to the district’s policy. Therefore students are not permitted to wear hoodies, hats, or tank tops.

GRADES


  • Students must engage in lessons and complete assignments in Google Classroom in order to receive credit for classes. 
  • Parents will be notified if a student is not showing up to Google Meets or completing assignments.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS


  • Lesson and assignments will be provided via Google Classroom
  • Students must engage in lessons and complete assignments in Google Classroom in order to receive credit for classes 
  • Students will follow their schedule in Infinite Campus 
  • Students must participate in Google Meets established by the teachers and log off the Google Meet at the close of the lesson. 

ATTENDANCE


  • Students will be required to answer a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) question posted daily to be marked "Present" in homeroom. 
  • Classroom attendance will be monitored through responses to the "Do Now" question posted in each class; as well as submission of work.

HOW TO CONNECT A DISTRICT-ISSUED CHROMEBOOK TO WIFI

Step 1: Turn on WiFi (at the bottom right, click on the time)

Step 2: Select: Not Connected 

Step 3: Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.

Step 4: Your Chromebook will automatically look for available networks and show them to you in a list.

Note: If you see your Wi-Fi network name and signal strength, then your Chromebook is already connected to Wi-Fi.
